In addition to the extensive scientific program, the Boston 2010 WCBCT has designed a full social program to help attendees enjoy the best of Boston and its surrounding areas. Additional information to help you take advantage of the sights, sounds, and tastes of our vibrant and historic city will be provided in the WCBCT Conference Program.

Wednesday, June 2:

Opening Ceremony. Agganis Arena (925 Commonwealth Avenue). 6:00p.m. – 7:15 p.m.

Social Hour. Agganis Arena. 7:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, June 3:

WCBCT Party. Burke Club Room, Agganis Arena 2nd Floor. 8:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Get ready for a night of dancing, socializing, and overrall fun with your fellow conference-goers! Enjoy a well-deserved break in this casual setting, and take a chance to just kick back and get a taste of Boston’s nightlife – brought right to you! Snacks will be provided for your enjoyment, and drinks will be available for purchase with cash or credit card. Come join the fun at the Burke Club Room on the second floor at the Agganis Area in the Student Village, just across the quadrangle from the high rise student dorms. If you can’t find the party, just follow the music.

Friday, June 4:

Evening Cruise on Boston Harbor (ticketed event). Bay State Cruise Company, 200 Seaport Blvd, Boston Harbor. 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Board the buses at 6:30 p.m. on Commonwealth Avenue by the BU Student Vilage and at the conference hotels (the Hyatt and Park Plaza). Boarding for the cruise begins at 7:00 p.m. at the World Trade Center Pier and the ship departs promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Boston Harbor offers one of the most beautiufl night-time skyline views of the city, with its unique mix of historic buildings and modern high-rise towers – get an exquisite view of the sunset and these city lights aboard the Provincetown II! Join other WCBCT attendees on this special ticketed event, and eat your hearts out on a delicious specially-catered buffet dinner. Continue the fun by listening to some of your favorite tunes, and don’t be shy, make sure you bring your dancing shoes! Feel free to bring your own ticketed guests to share in this memorable experience.

Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase on board (cash only).

Cruise tickets are available for $80 (which includes bus transportation in addition to the all-you-can eat dinner). Tickers will be available until 6 p.m. in the second floor of the George Sherman Union (775 Commonwealth Avenue).

Saturday, June 5:

Closing Ceremony. Tsai Performance Center (685 Commonwealth Avenue). 6:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Join us for special awards and the closing of the 6th 2010 WCBCT in Boston and hear special news about the 7th WCBCT, which will be held in Lima, Peru.

The Back Court Bar

George Sherman Union (775 Commonwealth Avenue). June 2: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.; June 3: 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; June 4: 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Meet and greet old and new friends in the Back Court Bar on the first floor of the George Sherman Union at 775 Commonwealth Avenue, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (closed Saturday). Snacks and a cash bar will be available.

Find the Back Court Bar in the far left corner beyond the George Sherman Union food court seating area.
